美國參議院兩黨共識：聲援香港，警告中國

美國參議院的共和黨領袖、民主黨領袖一小時内先後發聲，警告中國停止打壓香港。

參議院多數黨領袖，共和黨參議員麥康奈爾（Mitch McConnell）說，世界各國的領導人都應該關注在香港正在發生的針對示威者的打壓和濫捕，這些示威者追求民主。在中國恢復尊重香港自治和政治自由之前，世界各國不應該繼續和香港做生意。他同時轉發了華爾街日報關於黃之鋒被捕的新聞。

參議院少數黨領袖，加州民主黨議員舒默(Chuck Schumer)說，中國正在握緊對香港的掌控，以打壓民主，這正是一個殘酷的專制政權面臨絕望的表現。連續數個月以來，香港人民走上街頭，主張民主權利。美國人民應當繼續支持他們！
